The Contra Costa Transportation Authority not only plays a significant role in the funding and construction of the county's transportation infrastructure but also in its ongoing transportation programs. These programs are aimed towards reducing congestion, improving air quality and providing mobility options for non-driving citizens.
The Authority does not directly operate any bus or rail service in Contra Costa County. The Authority does, however, support public transportation operations by providing an essential funding source to ensure our county's operators can effectively meet the needs of the residents of Contra Costa County. Along with its funding support through Measures C and J, the Authority advocates the use of public transportation and supports actions for maximizing other funding sources to local transit operators.
Each program is listed in the Strategic Plan which indicates programming levels to support the operation.
