Contra Costa Boulevard Improvements

Contra Costa Boulevard is the longest regional arterial in the City of Pleasant Hill, with an average daily traffic volume of over 30,000 vehicles. The corridor traverses commercial and business centers it the City (e.g. Downtown Pleasant Hill and Sun Valley Mall), and it provides vital access to key educational facilities (e.g. Diablo Valley College). The current roadway configuration was designed back in the 1940s and 1960s and is in need of redesign and improvement.

The project will greatly improve the overall traffic circulation along Contra Costa Boulevard, and provide a much needed bike lane along the corridor. The improvements will also be designed specifically to address the various vehicle/bicycle/pedestrian operational issues that currently exist along the Contra Costa Boulevard corridor.
