San Ramon, CA – (April 22, 2025) – The Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) successfully hosted its 10th Annual Redefining Mobility Summit on Tuesday, April 22, at the Roundhouse Conference Center in San Ramon.

Marking a decade of leadership in mobility innovation, the Summit brought together global leaders from government, industry, and academia to explore the future of transportation. Delegations and participants from Japan, Mexico, Finland, Province of North Holland, and other nations joined hundreds of attendees in Contra Costa County to engage in sessions focused on next-generation autonomous vehicles, workforce development, and innovative business models for transit.

“The Redefining Mobility Summit has grown from a regional event into an internationally recognized forum for innovation and collaboration,” said CCTA Board Vice Chair Darlene Gee. “This year’s Summit was a great reminder that transportation innovation doesn’t just happen in Silicon Valley, it’s also happening right here in Contra Costa County.”

In addition to the panel discussions, the Summit featured a live Demo Zone showcasing cutting-edge mobility technology from companies including Beep, May Mobility, Glydways, Qibus and other CCTA partners. CCTA has partnered with Beep and May Mobility on autonomous vehicle pilots in locations such as San Ramon, Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, and Martinez, with additional testing and community demos performed at CCTA’s GoMentum Station , the largest autonomous testing facility in the U.S, and Glydways’ new development site in Richmond.

The event also included a STEM student showcase and a visit from California’s Teacher of the Year, highlighting CCTA’s commitment to education and workforce development. As part of this commitment, CCTA awarded $1,500 in prize money to two high school students from Contra Costa County who won a special art and engineering design contest held in conjunction with the Summit. In addition, CCTA will fund a STEM student summer camp using the proceeds of the Summit.

“This Summit continues to demonstrate CCTA’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and education – as well as supporting economic growth and workforce development for the region,” said Executive Director Tim Haile. “We’re proud to make Contra Costa County a hub for international AV collaboration, while investing in the next generation of local mobility leaders.”
